I was nervous as we waited to be interviewed in front of the congregation regarding our desire to serve in Cambodia by a prospective supporting church. At the time, I was pregnant with CJ and Mikaela and Kamryn had gone happily into Sunday School excited to make new friends. One of the questions posed to us that morning was subsequently posed to us over the course of the next year, in different ways, as we made plans to leave the United States, our family, church, and friends. “How can you take your young family out of the safety of the United States to a war-torn third-world country? Aren’t you afraid?” I remember my answer that morning as I stood before the people of the church. Boy was I nervous! I said that in obedience was God’s protection and that we would be the safest wherever the Lord has us because that would be his will…something like that! That morning, I believed what I was saying…in my head. It made perfect sense to me and I knew it was true. I write this before you today in firm conviction and experience that this is absolutely true! I know this in my heart as God has been faithful in everything, every time, all the time. So, as my heart ponders our 12 year mark of serving in Cambodia this week, I wanted to share some of God’s faithfulness in the lives of our child…
