“O Lord, You are my God, I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.” Isaiah 25:1 Dear Praying Friends, If you have been praying extra hard these past days……thank you!! Everyone is doing well, though we have some unexpected news to give you.
The past few weeks Jodi has been feeling extremely fatigued, and we thought for sure she was fighting a bug of some kind. Turns out she doesn’t have a bug…..but she is pregnant! Our 4th child comes a bit unexpectedly, but we are very excited for God’s wonderful gift and His perfect timing! And we already have several praises…… We were recommended to a Western Obstetrician who just arrived in country. Jodi loves her and it looks like she’ll be able to do all of our pre natal care We were able to get an ultrasound that confirmed that the baby is seven weeks….which puts the due date at January 8th! Our insurance company has been very responsive and helpful! We have located, by recommendation, a good hospital in Bangkok that we are prayerfully considering as an option for delivery Our kids are very excited about the possibility of having another brother or sister……Mikaela and Kamryn have already come up with names…..Joseph for a boy and Mary for a girl J Just a couple of prayer requests…… Strength and stamina for Jodi Please pray for rain……we’re having daily power outages that seem to come at nap/sleep time for the kids and they last for 90-120 minutes per outage. A large portion of our electricity in the city comes from hydro electric power and we have don’t have enough water!! Not having power from 8-10 pm every night wears on everyone but is especially difficult when you’re fighting nausea and fatigue Health for the baby and mom J Particularly protection from tropical diseases that we’re all susceptible to in this part of the world It has been great to celebrate our news with our team, they have been especially supportive! We do covet your prayers in the coming days and so appreciate your faithful support of our ministry here in Cambodia. We continue to slug away at the language and count every day as a victory! I was really blessed this morning to see 80 folks crammed into our little church……with almost 40 kids in the room next door! God is doing a great work among the Khmer, thank you for allowing us to be a part of it!! Have a blessed Lord’s Day……. In His Bonds, Daren and Jodi “Would that God would make hell so real to us that we cannot rest; heaven so real that we must have men there; Christ so real that our supreme motive and aim shall be to make the Man of Sorrows the Man of Joy by the conversion to Him of many….” Hudson Taylor
