Lopez Update

Categories: Updates from the Lopez Family

Dear Friends,

On October 16, 2005 we had the opportunity to speak with our home church by telephone during a church service. It was great to be part of the worship service. During that conversation, Pastor Mike Burchfield asked if we had any prayer requests.

We asked for prayer regarding our requesting permission from the Cambodian Government to work with orphans and children at risk. After months of negotiations and endless paper work our hopes of getting permission from the government to legally care for orphans seemed impossible. Jesus once said “with people it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God”. As you may have guessed, we did get approved but listen to this. The very next day, Monday October 17th, we received a call from an officer from the Ministry of Social Affairs in Cambodia who informed us that we have been accepted and given permission to work with orphans and children at risk by the Government of Cambodia! Four days later, at 7:00 AM we were called again by the same officer and informed that we were to be in attendance for a signing ceremony with the Secretary of State in one hour. We have been marveling at and giving special praise to God since the ceremony for the prayer of His saints, for His steadfast love, and faithfulness!

"You also joining in helping us through your prayers, so that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the favor bestowed on us through the prayers of many." (2 Corinthians 1:11, NASB95)

Thank you so much for partnering with us through your prayers and support!
