BJ & Andrea Cambodian Update

Categories: Updates from the Lopez Family

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has
blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly
places…." (Eph 1:3) What an incredible, loving and
compassionate God we have! Greetings to you from Cambodia! We do
not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in our prayers,
as you also remember us.

We are so thankful for your prayers on our behalf regarding our
furlough plans. We want to brief you on where we are in this
regard.  In our effort to travel
to the States this summer we never anticipated that the process
would have been so long and disheartening (disheartening in a sense
that we saw so much corruption and darkness among the people who
work for the well being of children at risk that belong to their
own countrymen). Through it all, we are thankful for the lessons
that the Lord has shown us, ever thankful for the Grace He has
bestowed upon us, and praise God for all the people we encountered
throughout this process. We were able to meet many different groups
of people on different platforms and thereby serve as witnesses for
our dear Lord and Savior. This has caused us to be more fervent in
our prayers on their behalf and for all of these opportunities we
are grateful! We both count it joy to trust in the providence of
God and know that His timing is perfect and therefore are able to
truly rejoice. This brings us to the end of September and taking
all of this into consideration, Andrea and I have prayerfully
decided to postpone our furlough plans until some time in 2007. We
trust the Lord’s leading in this and will continue to trust Him as
He guides and leads us. We are encouraged, looking ahead, and
pressing onward. As the apostle Paul wrote to the Philippians over
two thousand years ago, we write with the same heart in saying,
"forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies
ahead, we press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call
of God in Christ Jesus". We are disappointed that we will not be
with you as soon as we had anticipated but look forward to the time
in the near future, Lord willing, that we will worship and
fellowship together. So for now, please rejoice and praise God with
us for all that He is accomplishing in our hearts and lives here in
Cambodia. It is in Him and Him alone that we have our joy and
contentment. Thank you for supporting and standing with us in
prayer and sacrificial giving….we couldn’t do it without
you. Blessings and Grace to You, BJ and Andrea Lopez and Gang Heb
