In 1997, Andrew Tek moved to Phnom Penh to live with a Christian family. He wasn’t a Christian but he hoped that his relationship with them would somehow benefit his life financially and socially since he didn’t have many friends and he was just a country boy! The Holy Spirit used this time in Andrew’s life to stir his heart and he began to consider his own standing before God. Eventually, this lead him to repentance and confessing Christ as his Savior. After he became a Christian, Andrew had a strong desire to serve God, so much so he would get up early on Sunday morning to prepare chairs at church, clean the church, help with errands, serving anywhere when asked! As he sacrificed his time, he also learned to depend on the Lord for provision of his basic needs. He recalls one time when he was able to eat only one duck egg for two days but even then he kept on trusting in God for his needs….
