We want to thank each one of you for your prayers and ongoing support during our time of furlough. We continue to seek the Lord for healing and rejuvenation during this time away from Cambodia. Christiana has been able to do a number of medical tests, including another MRI, but so far nothing has come back conclusive regarding what occurred last year. We covet your prayers as we explore options and additional tests.
We have now re-located to New Jersey into a missionary home complex for three months. The house is very nice and the community very inviting, with plenty of other missionary kids for Ava, Paton and John to play with. We will continue to debrief and receive counsel during our time here and also appreciate your prayers that God will use these times to allow decompression and rest.
We started the first day of homeschool this week. The kids were very excited! John was particularly thrilled to attend school for the first time, although he was a little disappointed that he didn’t get to ride a school bus!
Because of the many advancements in internet technology, I’ve been able to continue working with the ACTION Cambodia translation team during our time in the States. We are going to be publishing three new booklets in Khmer. The first booklet is a collection of articles advising Christians how to go about pursuing a spouse to the glory of Christ. The second is a book on the dangers of viewing pornography. And the third is a short collection of articles from our newly released Christian blog, PlovPit (meaning “True Way”). Each book features articles from authors such as John Piper, Tim Challies, Andrew Naselli and many more. Our desire is to give out over 5,000 of these books during an upcoming Christian conference in the capital of Cambodia this September. To cover costs, we need to raise and additional $3,550.
